Tree diseases: Witches’ Broom

A tree sick with Witches’ Broom tree disease

This disease makes too many branches grow from one branch on a tree, which look like a broom or a nest.

It is often caused by phytoplasmas (bacterial parasites that are transmitted by insects). It can also be caused by other organisms, such as mites or fungi.
